What is the future design I think?

I have come to think about what design will become popular in the future while listening to design theory class.

Then I went to Luigi Colani exhibition in DDP. I was amazed at the amount of work that Luigi Colani had in his various fields and was amazed at how his design work gave me.

I thought deeply about the design motif was obtained in nature.

I think humans want natural designs, designs that are motivated and inspired by nature, with curved lines. Today most buildings and structures are square. Because building with curves requires a higher level of skill than box-shaped building. The rectangle is the shape we used to make it stable and at least resource.

Curves and curved lines are found everywhere in nature while straight lines are almost never found in nature. Grass and trees and flowers and animals and all things in nature are never perfect and never straight. Not even bamboo, which is famous for straightness, is not actually straight. It may look straight but between each segment, there is a slight inward curve because the joints are little larger than the rest of the bamboo. Instead of straight lines, we find more curves and spirals, such as the shell of snails. The shell of snails is famous for the Golden Ratio of their shell formation.

humans still part of nature. When we see the design with the curve found in nature, we feel the sense of stability and the beauty.
Now that we have technology and materials that can help us build and make things that have curves, I think we will begin to make more and more designs with curves.

In the future, we are more likely to have designs with curves based on the curved lines found in nature.
I believe that in the future ‘nature-motivated designs’ may become the main trend for the designs that people use. What I mean by ‘nature-motivated designs’ is that people will begin using less straight lines and boxy designs. Instead, they will use more curved lines and shapes that are found in nature.
